Blender Workshop
Blender Workshop
Blender is a free and open source 3D modeling program, designed to make animations, rendered scenes and general 3D objects.
Learning Blender can be not only a great skill to use for virtual environments like our grid. You can also use it to make your own animated movie or assets for a computer game as well as 3D simulations and visualisations for real-life building projects. You can even print out your creations on a 3D printer.

In our Blender workshop, we’re exploring the basics of Blender, creating 3D objects from scratch for our virtual world. In each project, we will model our object with various modeling tools, define its textureable surfaces and create custom textures for it. Last but not least, we will upload our new asset into our virtual world.
We meet every Wednesday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm.
Each project will be explained step by step and takes several sessions to complete.
In the beginning of each session, we provide a download file, containing the progress we made so far, so you can join anytime and be able to follow the session. At the end of each session, you will receive a notecard with the instructions, so you can review them at your own pace and catch up with things you might have missed during the session.
Additionally, you can take screenshots and download all screenshots provided directly in the session to get a full documentation.
Please make sure you have the newest version of Blender installed and running on your computer before the session starts. You can download Blender here:
